Preferences and Practices regarding Delivery Place: A community-based cross-sectional study in Agra city, Uttar Pradesh

Background: Understanding preferences and practices for delivery place among women would assist in better resource utilization skilled attendants. Objectives: To study factors influencing women’s preference practice regarding their of delivery. Methods: A community based cross-sectional was conducted Agra from 1st October 2018 to 31st 2020. Multi-stage random sampling used. Data collected using semi-structured interview schedule. Both bivariate multivariate analysis done. Result: Majority (72.67%) had at government hospital while 19.67% private only 7.67% home. In actual practice, 58.33% delivered 32.33% 9.33 % On multiple-logistic regression analysis, parity found have significant association with hospital. Preference be OBC caste whose husband has skilled/highly-skilled occupation. Government as presence ASHA. Private a literate mothers parity. Conclusion: preferred practiced institutional delivery, preferring over well home out-numbered the proportion.
